"They say to the seers, see no more visions! And to the prophets, 'Give us no more visions of what is right!' Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions." Isaiah 30:10
The people could not bear to hear prophetic words that condemned their sinful lifestyle. They were tired of hearing about God and the holy lifestyle that He required. They wanted to hear encouraging, pleasant and inoffensive messages.

Paul states that in the last days a similar state of mind will prevail among some within the churches. These people will reject God's messengers who proclaim the truth and instead choose leaders who preach what they want to hear. They will insist on pleasant and flattering messages that do not expose their sin and worldliness, but rather assure them of their security and God's love no matter what they do.

Yes, this is so true Wings!

It grieves me to think that there are those who think they are right, think they are hearing from God, and think they know the truth but their thinking is not the mind of Christ.

This is man's ways and his wisdom; however it is not God's ways nor His wisdom. It is only a shadow of the truth, but not the truth.

Eventually, they will fall into doublemindedness and be cursed. How sad. The bible is full of instances where believers knew the truth but the lust of their hearts dictated to them louder than their covetedness for the Savior. God gave them over to the lusts of their hearts and they then started to do that which was unseemly. Their behavior starts subtly.

The devil MAKES you question a godly thing which leads to doubt.
The devil MAKES you look at the situation and causes you to become discouraged by the doubt of what you hear.
The devil MAKES you your attention to your desires, your motives because you have been in doubt and been discouraged, now you want what you seem to lack - that is your own way. Your motives are no longer His but yours.
The devil MAKES you feel that you are defeated or a failure, causing you to be depressed, tired, and even blame others for your sins. You don't repent because you already are so deep in your sin that you 'KNOW' you are right and the other people are wrong. This causes you to be decieved. You will be a slave to your emotions and attached to the things of this world.
The devil MAKES you put off the things of God because you doubt and are discouraged, you feel depressed, and you don't count yourself worthy to go on for God.
The devil MAKES your ears plug up because you haven't been obeying God and doing what is right. Instead you have been ignoring His commands and listening to the wrong spirit.
And finally, the devil MAKES you deny the truth and enlist others to believe what you believe. This is how one gets into bondage of sin and brings along with them all the others who also become blind and deaf to the bondages of your sin. Your sin becomes their sin now.
The result is a reprobate mind.
